Notes:
(1) Trim tag has "M" in
group 2 indicating a Powerglide automatic transmission. So, these
cars are listed not for being documented L78 cars but rather cars to
be leery of if considering a purchase. I have photos of the
red/black convertible (K1874xx) trim tag with both the original "M"
transmission coded trim tag and a newer photo of the same tag with
"L" coding for the transmission. All other data is the same between
the two tags indicating a reproduction tag was created to indicate
the 4-speed transmission.
° n/v - Not verified via paperwork and/or some paperwork is suspect
or incomplete.
(1) Data arrived at via what is believed to be a valid build sheet, bill of sale, and/or warranty card (Protect-O-Plate). Last two digits of sequence number suppressed until registered by owner. If you own any of these Chevelles or know the current owner, please contact the L78 Registry.
(2) Documentation supplied by current or former owner. (If there is a link here it will link to a
page of the car's history/story.)
