Identifying a 1967 RS and/or SS Camaro
Non-RS, non-SS front and rear views. Note parking lamps in grille, backup
lamps integral with the tail lamps and plain gas cap.
Rally Sport (RS) [RPO Z22]
An appearance only option that consists of concealed headlights (requiring) a different grille, back-up lights under the rear bumper and included the Z21 style trim package. A different front valance panel with the front parking lamps/turn signals mounted in the valance instead of the grille. The RS option is noted on the trim tag with the letter "L" code in option group 3.
RS front and rear views. Note hideaway headlamps, "rs" badging,
parking lamps now in front valance, backup lamps in rear valance, tail
lamps, and "rs" gas cap.
Super Sport (SS350) [RPO L48 or L34/L35/L78]
SS front and rear views. Note "SS" badging on grille, fender,
and "SS" gas cap. Since this does not have the "rs"
option, other grille, headlamp, tail lamp and backup lamps are the same
as a standard Camaro. It should be noted that rear spoilers were not
available until late 1967 and then only over the counter at the dealers.
Only the SS396 received the blacked-out rear cove (lower photo) where
the SS350 did not (middle photo).
RS/SS front and rear views. Note hideaway headlamps, parking lamps now
in front valance, "SS" badging, backup lamps in rear valance,
tail lamps, and "SS" gas cap. SS badging overrode RS badging
when the RS package was ordered on SS350 or SS396 Camaros.
The SS option included these faux scoops on the hood
