1970 SS396 Sport Coupe ~ Offered at $45,000 (USD)

DreamWorks MuscleCars, LLC

Very original 1970 396/350, Mist Green, Green Interior and Green vinyl roof, A/C, PS, PB, console, buckets, 3.31:1 open rear, TH400, F41 suspension, that I have owned since 1999. This is not your average Chevelle. It has had a babied life and has 58,000 original miles. There is a full history of ownership, video from second owner, a POP plate attached to original warranty card, original set of keys and owner’s manual. I have a full documented history of the car with contact information from each owner. The original owner purchased the car in July of 1970 in California, he was 56 years old. There were 5 owners, none under the age of 39.

The car is matching numbers, with all of its original date coded parts, original sheet metal, original interior - in fact the car is approximately 95% original. It is a real SS.

Senior AACA car with a Junior Grand National award, many Chevelle awards, featured in Chevelle World Magazine, numerous first prize awards at points judging shows (the shows that count).

The car was restored - I should say cleaned up, in 2000. It shares the detailing of the cleanup and the beautiful patina of the almost perfect original parts. The car is beautiful to look at and drives just as well. Because of its beauty and original condition it is truly a collector piece to enjoy on those beautiful days and car shows.

The car was painted approximately 17 years ago, the color and the shine is still outstanding, a few nicks here and there but overall still stunning. It was done by the second owners in lacquer, both base and clear. Over the years the clear coat is showing signs of checking, see pic, tried to capture it. The base green under the clear is still perfect. I consulted with a few body guys who advised that the clear coat could be wet sanded down to the base and a new coat of clear lacquer could be re applied. At this point considering it’s not terrible; I have not attempted to have this done.

I am an ACES and Team Chevelle member, creator of the Chevelle registry on Team Chevelle and known in the Chevelle community, there are no false statements to the condition or originality of this car and many in the Chevelle community can vouch for my integrity.

Torn on selling but would like to move on to a non original, non matching numbers car – one I don’t have to baby.

Thanks for looking, feel free to come and inspect the car if need be.
