1972 Chevelle SS454 Convertible - Offered at $139,500 (USD)
In 1972 the fifth position of the VIN for a General Motors vehicle designated
the engine size. In 1972 for the Chevelle the “W” designated the High Performance
454 engine. This engine was ONLY available in the SS (Super Sport) model.
There are currently 24 Chevelle SS 454 Convertibles known left to exist.
It is believed that this was the only one built in this finished color –
Golden Brown.
This car is one of the 24 in the 1972 “W” Convertible registry. It is currently
an “investment grade” vehicle and the most pristine and correct example
of a 1972 “W” convertible in the world today. In 2009, the car scored a
398.5 out of a possible 400 points at the Maryland Chevelle Show.
