The 1993 was virtually unchanged in appearance. A 40th Anniversary Package (RPO Z25) was optional with all models. The package included a Ruby Red Metallic exterior, Ruby Red leather sport seats, power driver's seat, special wheel center trim and emblems.
All leather seats have "50th Anniversary" embroidered on the headrest; the basic black cloth seats do not.
Horsepower for the ZR-1 was upped from 375hp to 405hp, a result of modifications to the cylinder heads and valve train.
This was the first year GM featured a passive keyless entry (PKE) system through the key-fob transmitter. This feature would unlock the doors, turn on the interior lamp, and disarm the theft-deterrent system. When leaving the car, the transmitter would lock the doors and activate the theft-deterrent system.
