Caveats:
(1) There were 24,946 Malibu/Custom El Camino series was equipped with
RPO Z15 SS option and, of these, 5,333 were equipped with SS454 equipment.
Note: On all eight cylinder models, the "x" represents one of 5 8-cylinder engines available in 1972. Engine designations are "W" for 454-4 "U" for 396-4, "J" for 350-4, "H" for 350-2, and "F" for 307-2. Only one six cylinder engine was available and "D" indicates the 250-1 engine.
