Codes are listed by group and in alphabetical order within the group. Codes listed are for all 1964 Chevelle body styles so some would naturally not apply to the El Camino. Codes on trim tags are not shown in alphabetical order but they do have an order of precedence when used.

It's reported that some plants used different option code letters for the same option. Also, only Atlanta, Flint, Framingham, Kansas City, and Van Nuys used these codes on the body plate; Baltimore and Fremont did not.
