Q: How many Chevy II/Nova sport coupes were built in 1966 with the 283 engine?

A: Sadly GMs records were destroyed years ago. There are known production numbers for individual VIN-related body styles such as the 1966 Chevy II/Nova sport coupe with a V8 (14,666) and 32,676 283 cid engines were installed but no figures on how many of those 283 cid engines were installed in any given series/body styles.

Q: Did any Chevy II/Novas come with gauges?

A: Gauges were not an option until the 1968 model year under RPO U17 "Front Compartment Console Instrument Cluster" and only when V8 engine and center console was ordered. The tachometer was located in the dash while the water temperature, fuel level, oil pressure and ammeter gauges plus electric clock was located in the console.
