Chevrolet offers no fewer than four (4) Power Team Charts. So, instead of trying to rationalize the differences I'll simply present them here for your judgment. What is interesting to note is all L30 327/275hp and below engines are shows with 10-bolt rear ends and only the SS 396 shows 12-bolt rear ends. The L79 327/350hp engine axle ratios are not shown but since the L79 did not appear until March of 1966, this would not be unusual. Is would be logical for this engine to come with a 12-bolt rear end a 3.31:1 gear ratio as both the 1965 and 1967 L79 did.
