Beginning in 1968 the Fisher Body Style was reduced to two style numbers, 12437 for coupes and 12467 for convertibles.

Indications are the body numbers are sequential for the particular series/model per plant. See the trim tag breakdown page for more information.

Option codes no longer appear on any 1968 body plates.

Added verbiage "GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION CERTIFIES TO THE DEALER THAT THIS VEHICLE CONFORMS TO ALL FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS APPLICABLE AT TIME OF MANUFACTURE" to all body plates.

- Single letter and three-digit sequence at top right is a letter for the production day of the month and the 3-digit sequence is the sequence number for that day. Number would rollover from 999 to 001.
- Up until late December, 1967, there was no dash character between the year and style number. Sometime between 12D and 01C, a dash character was added.
