This Chevelle website is not designed to help you
locate a car you owned 20-30 years ago. To my knowledge there is no known
database of a car's VIN and its past/current owner. Such a public database
would be a gross invasion of privacy. Law enforcement agencies can run a
VIN in most cases to find the current owner but can only do so legally as
part of any police action such as a suspected stolen car or one that has
been in an accident to verify the owner. They CANNOT, legally, do a VIN
search for personal reasons such as a favor to a friend.
