Although the passenger-car (Chevelle, Camaro, Nova, Corvette, Full-Size) 396/454 engines were built at the Tonawanda engine plant, those for trucks were built at the Flint engine plant. The staging area at this plant shows engines arriving from the Flint engine plant waiting to be added to the chassis assembly side of the production plant. Note the yellow stickers on the back of the passenger side rocker arm cover with their suffix codes designating the engine's cubic inches, horsepower rating, and transmission type.
