Fake Build Sheets

Sadly in the world of expensive Chevelles, unscrupulous individuals will fake paperwork in an attempt to legitimize a Chevelle they are selling. In particular, build sheets, window stickers, and even Protect-O-Plate warranty cards are being faked.

Here is just one example of a faked build sheet for an LS6 Chevelle from the Leed's assembly plant in Kansas City, MO. Highlighted are just a few of the stupid mistakes made by the fake build sheet creators. Note the 'aging' to make it appear more original.

Many times, they are easy to spot as fakers often use codes and/or verbiage from one plant on another. Plants often used different broadcast codes and different verbiage to the same option. I offer a CD of 1970 build sheet decoding for 1970 Chevelles with both the SS396 and SS454 options for Atlanta, Baltimore, Kansas City, and Van Nuys assembly plants. This information is available on a CD media or via a download file. You can see all of my CDs/DVDs available on my ChevelleCD.net website at - https://www.chevellecd.net/products/ccorders/cc_cd_order.htm.

Sample of a fake window sticker for the Kansas City, MO. assembly plant. What's wrong? Well, the cost shown for A51 bucket seats is shown as $105.35 when the option cost $121.15. The inclusion of D88 Sport Stripes at a cost of $68.50 when stripes were part of the ZL2 Cowl Induction Hood package.
