1969 Chevelle RPO Production Numbers/MSRP

Caveat: Option quantities/prices vary from resource to resource. These quantities (and prices in most cases) were taken from year-specific 'Accumulative Production/Final Model Year Reports' from Chevrolet and 'Options And Accessories When Installed By Chevrolet' price sheets and do not normally include quantities/prices from GM of Canada unless otherwise noted.

It is important to note the items listed and the quantity represent the item individually when ordered as an option and not when they may have come as standard equipment or in a convenience or appearance group on certain models. All costs listed are 1963/64 dollars. Dealers may have charged more (or less) for some options depending on the time of year as costs did fluctuate and some option costs varied depending on the series/model being installed on. Those with a noted number are some examples of dealer invoices or window stickers with varying costs.

* The L35 engine was also available in non-SS 396 optioned Chevelles as a special " police package" that also required power disc brakes. It's believed 323 non-SS 396 optioned Chevelles were built. This figure is arrived at by subtracting the number of RPO Z25 (SS 396 Equipment) options sold from the total of the three 396 engine options.

323 396-cid engines sold not accounted for via RPO Z25 - Since the 427-cid COPO Chevelles were NOT built as SS 396 optioned Chevelles, the 323 number would, logically, be subtracted from the L78 396-cid engine totals.

(1) RPO A82 Head Restraint pricing was automatically added to both bench and bucket seats prior to January 1, 1969 but could be 'deleted' via RPO AR1. Beginning January 1, 1969 the 'delete' option was eliminated as head restraints became mandatory.

*** Monaco/Orange and Daytona Yellow were also available on non-SS optioned Chevelles but would NOT have the 72 or 76 paint code on the trim tag but rather the trim tag would have the same indication of how other special order colors would be designated and the cost would be determined the same way any other special order paint color would be cost out. Special order paint (RPO ZP3) pricing can vary and is often coded on a window sticker as 1001HA ONE SPECIAL COLOR.
