1971 Chevelle Tire Pressure Label

The tire pressure label was affixed to the driver's side front door shown in the above image as item #1. The tire pressure label displays the recommended front and rear tire pressure both when cool and when hot.

In the following tables taken from over 90 1971 build sheets. Several broadcast codes are used for multiple regular production option (RPO ) tires. For example, Baltimore has several tire label codes for the same F60x15 raised white letter tire (PM7). Why? Like other 1971 plants with the same tire for different tire pressure label codes.

So, when it comes time to replace your tire pressure label, see which one or ones are appropriate. Fair warning, many aftermarket suppliers sell a DW and AO coded labels as applicable for a 1970 Chevelle - they are NOT. There is no reason to put an incorrect tire pressure label on your Chevelle. With that, I present my findings in the tables below.

Arlington

VIN search disclaimer This Chevelle website is not designed to help you locate a car you owned 20-30 years ago. To my knowledge there is no known database of a car's VIN and its past/current owner. Such a public database would be a gross invasion of privacy. Law enforcement agencies can run a VIN in most cases to find the current owner but can only do so legally as part of any police action such as a suspected stolen car or one that has been in an accident to verify the owner. They CANNOT, legally, do a VIN search for personal reasons such as a favor to a friend.

Data presented here has been gathered from various websites, knowledgeable car owners, my personal observances, and GM's "Information Kits." I have found several differences on numerous websites, particularly in sales quantity and pricing such as MSRP.
