Transmission

Transmission choices were fairly limited for 1964. Three manual 3-speed transmissions were used, one for the two 6-cylidner engines and one for the V8 engines plus an overdrive 3-speed optional with the two 6-cylinder engines and the two 283 V8 engines. Although only one automatic transmission type was offered as an option, the Powerglide™, three versions were used. One for the two 6-cylinder engines, one for the two 283 V8 engines, and a third for the two 327 V8 engines.
