1970 Atlanta Trivia/Notes
From all indications, 1970 model year production began on September 16, 1969 at Atlanta. At least I have no build sheets before that date and the September 19 build sheet is sequence #100664. The SCHED NO-DATE is 04 09-19 meaning the 4th workday of the month (September in this case) was the 19th. Since September 19, 1969 was a Friday and the 4th working day, counting backwards indicates that September 16 would have been the first working day for production.
There also appears to have been a plant shutdown from December 20, 1969 through January 4, 1970. December 19 is the 64th work day and January 5, 1970 is the 65th workday. Another shutdown appears to have happened from February 7, 1970 thru February 13. February 6, 1970 is shown as the 88th work day and February 13, 1970 is shown as the 89th workday.
When a code change happened the dates noted are dates in the SCHED NO-DATE box.
>> Plant shutdown between 12-19 and 01-05.
>> Plant shutdown between 02-07 and 02-15.
Where Atlanta Build Sheets Are Typically Found
One good place to look for an Atlanta build sheet is behind one of the door panels, and more often the passenger side.
