2007 Trivia

The 2007 model year saw very few changes from 2006. Two-tone interior choices that were limited in 2006 to the Z06 hardtop were now optional in all 2007 models; available in Ebony with Red, Ebony with Cashmere, and Ebony with Gray. Two-tone seats were a bit expensive (although with 2007 Corvette prices, not really out of line) at $695.00 and came with C6 crossed flags embroidered on the headrests. The Z06 seat options remained the same as 2006 models with choices of Ebony, Ebony with Red, and Ebony with Gray. One difference between the 2006 Z06 and 2007 Z06 was the embroidery on the headrests. The 2006 Z06 has 'Z06' embroidered in an outline fashion while the 2007 Z06 has a solid 'Z06' emblem.

A new color was added, Atomic Orange to replace the 2006's Sunset Orange. Unlike the 2006's Sunset Orange the 2007 Atomic Orange set a buyer back $750.00.

On convertibles, the retractable power top, which had previously been an extra cost option of $1,995.00 when ordered with the 3LT Equipment Group, was included with the 3LT Equipment group for the 2007 model year. However, the 3LT equipment group option also increased in price from $3,395.00 to $5,540.00. Also new for 2007, consumers now had the option to override the recommended color combinations when ordering a convertible. Listed as RPO D30, it allowed consumers to order their Corvette’s color scheme in virtually any color combination they wanted, if they were willing to pay the premium price of an additional $590.00.

The only notable mechanical change was the introduction of larger, cross-drilled brake rotors. These brake rotors were offered to those buyers who ordered the Magnetic Selective Ride Control option (RPO F55). For previous Corvettes, this brake package, sized between the base model and the Z06 brake systems, was included and only available when ordered as part of the Z51 performance package.

The base coupe and convertible both came standard with the 362 cubic inch LS2 V8 with 400 horsepower. The 2007 Z06 came standard with the 427 cubic inch LS7 with 505 horsepower; the same as the 2006 model year Corvette.

Ron Fellows Edition

A special edition 2007 Z06, known informally as the "Ron Fellows Edition" was offered as option under RPO Z33 as a $7,500.00 option with only 399 being sold (33 in Canada). The "2007 Ron Fellows American Le Mans Series Grand Touring Class 1 Champion Corvette Z06" (its 'formal' name) only came in Artic White and some special features were added. Twin red/silver stripes on the front fenders, charcoal leather seats with red inserts, red center armrest, and lower door panels. Otherwise it was mechanically identical to the regular Z06. The rarity of the car makes it very collectible.

See more information on the Ron Fellows Edition Z06.

Callaway Cars Conversion

Callaway Cars continued to offer performance conversions in 2007 with a supercharged, 560-616hp (depending on which version was ordered) 350cid V8 with 582 ft. lbs. of torque.

Minimal body work was done to the base Z06 shown here in Atomic Orange. The bubble, or scoop, on the hood is noticable and require to clear the supercharger.
