Notes of Interest

	Chevrolet changed the vinyl seat description from "Imitation Leather" to "Coated Fabric."
	Since the SS 396 was now an option on certain Malibu and 300 Deluxe series instead of its own series, the Malibu sport coupe came standard with cloth/vinyl bench seats; the SS 396 option did nothing to change that. An all-vinyl bench seat was offered at an additions $12.65 cost.
	The 300 Deluxe coupe and sport coupe could not order bucket seats, even when the SS 396 option was ordered.
	Headrests would become standard equipment on all 1969 Chevelles. However, prior to January 1, 1969, the headrests could be deleted under RPO AR1 and headrests were shown on dealer invoices. As of January 1, 1969 the delete option was no longer available and seat prices were increased to match the previous delete cost as headrests became mandatory.
	All convertibles, station wagons, and sedan pickups have vinyl seats.

Aftermarket bucket seat trim kits often include a bright trim piece for the seat cushion side. These are NOT correct for Chevelles. Buicks, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac bucket seats got them but Chevelles did not.

VIN search disclaimer This Chevelle website is not designed to help you locate a car you owned 20-30 years ago. To my knowledge there is no known database of a car's VIN and its past/current owner. Such a public database would be a gross invasion of privacy. Law enforment agencies can run a VIN in most cases to find the current owner but can only do so legally as part of any police action such as a suspected stolen car or one that has been in an accident to verify the owner.
