© ChevelleWorld All convertibles, station wagons, and sedan pickups came with all vinyl seats. The Malibu convertible uses the same two-tone seat trim as the Malibu SS. El Camino bucket seats uses the same two-tone seat trim as the Malibu SS but are limited to Aqua, Fawn, and Red.
© ChevelleWorld Except for seats trimmed in black and white, the cushion and backrest panels are a darker color tone than the bolsters and facings resulting in a two-tone bucket seat color theme.

The Malibu SS came standard with a manual 3-speed column shifted transmission and bucket seats. The center console was added only when the optional manual 4-speed or Powerglide automatic transmission was ordered. Powerglide equipped Malibu SS models could have the console deleted and could request a column shift as well as request a bench seat.

 

Prior to January of 1965, Malibu & Malibu SS seats had ribbed inserts while those after January were smooth inserts. No specific date is known so there may be overlap as old material stock was being used up.
