Notes

A red. white, and blue Z06 paced the 2006 Indianapolis 500. The car was driven by cyclist Lance Armstrong.

One of the three pace cars built for the race was sold to private owner, Ed Fastook.

Front airbags employ passenger-sensing technology. A sensor in the passenger seat automatically disables the passenger-side airbag if no passenger (or a passenger under a predetermined weight) is detected.

A 3-spoke steering wheel replaced the 2005′ Corvette’s 4-spoke steering wheel. The 3-spoke wheel was 16mm (0.62-inch) smaller measured at the outside diameter.

Instrument trim panel colors were revised. Chrome was added to HVAC and non-navigation radio knobs. A new shift knob for automatics added aluminum trim.

The shift-to-reverse before shutdown with manual transmissions was eliminated for the 2006 model year.

A small GM badge was added to each rear fender.
