1987 Corvette

Chevrolet planned to offer the low tire pressure indicator system under RPO UJ6 but the $325 option was limited due to false signaling issues and records indicate that only 46 were sold.

The center section and radial slots on 1987 wheels were painted argent gray where 1986 wheel centers were not painted.

New for 1987 were roller valve lifters and resulted in a 5hp increase to 240hp over 1986 aluminum-head engines.

The new RPO Z52 sport handling package combined elements of the Z51 with the softer suspension of base models. RPO Z52 also included a radiator boost fan, Bilstein shocks, engine oil cooler, heavy duty radiator, 16x9.5-inch wheels, faster 13:1 steering, larger front stabilizer bar, and the onvertible-inspired structural imprments for coupes. RPO Z52 was optional on both the coupe and convertible, automatic or manual transmission.

RPO C68, electronic air conditioning control was now an option on both the coupe and convertible.
