A special limited-edition 35th anniversary Corvette was offered with just 2,050 being built. The special Corvette included the build sequence number on the console and special badging. All were built in sequence at the Bowling Green assembly plant.

The 35th Anniversary Edition (officially the Z01 option) sports a prerdominatly White exterior, revised Corvette emblems and badges signifylng the Corvette's 35th anniversary. White leather seat trim, 6-way power seats, automatic air conditioning, illuminated driver's vanity mirror, Delco/Bose radio system, and sport handling package make up the Z01 option.

New two-piston front brake calipers and thicker rotors were introduced. Three new colors added; Dark Blue Metallic, Charcoal Metallic, and Gray Metallic. Standard 16-in x 8-in cast aluminum wheels with P255/50ZR-16 Eagle blackwall tires and new 17-in x 9-in cast aluminum wheels with P275/40ZR-17 Eagle tires optional (included with the Z51 and Z52 options).
