1995 Corvette

1995 would be the final year of the ZR-1 model and only 448 ZR-1s are scheduled to be built.

Base Corvette Sport Coupe (1YY07) & Convertible (1YY67)

© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  The base Corvette sport coupe and convertible boasted a 350cid, 300hp engine, 4-speed automatic transmission, removable body-color roof panel, Delco stereo with cassette, and leather seats.
© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  The Preferred Equipment Group One included electronic air condition controls, Delco-Bose stereo with cassette, and a power drivers seat at a cost of $1,333.00.
© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  The base engine for the 1995 Corvette was the LT1 small block. In 1995 Corvettes, the engine developed 300 horsepower (net) at 5,000 rpms. The engine torque was rated at 340 lbs. -ft at 3,600 rpm. Late in 1994 production, connecting rods were changed to a powdered-metal design to improve both strength and weight uniformity. Fuel injectors were revised to better cope with alcohol-blend fuels and to reduce fuel dripping after engine shutdown. The engine cooling fan was modified for quieter operation.
© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  The front fender “gill” air vents were re-designed for the 1995 Corvette and is one of the only distinguishing features between it and the 1994 model.
© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  One new color was added, Dark Purple Metallic and two colors were deleted, Copper Metallic and Black Rose Metallic.
© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  The front wheels are 8.5 x 17 with P255/45ZR17 tires while the rear tire size is P285/40ZR17.
© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  A readout for automatic transmission fluid temperature was added to the instrument panel.

Indy 500 Pace Car Replica (convertible) (RPO Z4Z)

© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  Chevrolet announced on January 3, 1995 than 522 pace cars would be build and 87 of these would be used at the Indianapolis 500 festival and for public relations.
© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  20 of these would be exported to Canada, 415 would be distributed (one each) to the top performing dealers across the U.S. Actual final production of these would be 527.

Special Performance Package (coupe) (RPO ZR-1)

© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  Included unique bodywork (doors, rear quarters, rocker panels, rear facia, and rear upper panel).
© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  Fitted with special Goodyear Z-rated P315/35ZR17 tires on 11-inch wide wheels.
© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  Included several other regular production options availble separately; Power Passenger Seat (AC1), Power Driver Seat (AC3), Sport SEats (AQ9), Electronic Air Conditioning Control (C68), Selective Ride and Handling, electronic (FX3), Stereo System with CD, Delco Bose (U1F), and Low Tire Pressure Warning Indicators (UJ6) and a specially laminated “solar” windshield were included. Additionally, the six-speed manual transmission (MN6) was required.
© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  The ZR-1's LT5 engine was rated at 405bhp.
© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  Despite its similar appearance to the 1995 LT1 Corvette, the ZR-1 still received unique doors and rear body panels to accept the 11-inch wide rear wheels. The high mount center stop lamp for the 1994 ZR-1s continued to be roof mounted. 
© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  The LT5 Engines were assembled by Mercury Marine in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and were then shipped to the Corvette plant in Bowling Green Kentucky for ZR1 Corvette assembly and were returned to Mercury Marine for certain repairs. Customers were given the choice of a replacement engine or the return of their original engine if it could be repaired.
© C4 CORVETTEWORLD  1995 marked the last year for the C4 ZR1 Corvette. Mercury Marine completed all LT5 engines in November, 1993. Tooling, owned by GM, was removed from Mercury Marine’s factory and all engines, specially sealed, were shipped to Corvette’s Bowling Green assembly plant for storage until needed. A total of ZR-1's was limited to 448 units, the same as 1993 and 1994.
