© ChevelleWorld All 1967 Chevelle station wagons and sedan pickups have vented gas caps, all others have non-vented gas caps.

© ChevelleWorld The 1967 would be the last year of body designation for a sport coupe as '37' to '17.'

© ChevelleWorld There was a special wheel cover for the SS 396 series when the optional wheel cover was ordered; hub caps and lower body color steel wheels were standard.

© ChevelleWorld Disc brakes were first offered with 1967 Chevelles. Any series could order disc brakes. Special "rally" wheels were part of the disc brake option. These wheels were NOT an option by themselves. There are two sizes of disc brake wheels, 14x6 for the SS 396 and 14x5 for all others.

© ChevelleWorld The Concours station wagon is the only 1967 series with a VIN starting with 137xx and the 13835 V8 Concours wagon is the only 138xx series Chevelle that isn not an SS396. Marina Blue paint was the most popular color fo r1967 Chevelles (53,669) but the Concours station wagon was not available in that oclor unless it was special ordred and approved by the Fleet and Special Order (F&SO) group.

© ChevelleWorld A bench seat was standard for all series and models. The SS 396 bench seat was all vinyl while other series/models were cloth & vinyl with the exception of convertibles, station wagons, and sedan pickups that were all vinyl. Bucket seats were now an option under RPO A51 and only available with the Malibu & SS 396 series sport coupe or convertible as well as the Malibu series sedan pickup.

© ChevelleWorld The TH400 transmission was first offered in 1967 Chevelles but only available with any of the three 396-cid engines.

© ChevelleWorld The 1967 model year Chevelle would be the last year a tachometer could be ordered without the gauges under RPO U16 but only with a V8 engine. Special Instrumentation (RPO U14) was limited to V8 Malibus and SS 396 series while the tachometer alone (RPO U16) could be ordered by itself with any V8 engine series.

Gauges

Warning lamps were standard on all 1967 Chevelles. The gauge option, RPO U14 included an ammeter, mechanical oil pressure gauge, and electric water temperature gauge with any V8 Malibu sport coupe, convertible, sedan pickup, and SS 396 sport coupe and convertible. Gauges were no longer available with an I6 engine as they had been in 1966. A tachometer was also an option by itself for any V8 engine under RPO U16. There is no such thing as "SS Gauges."

The tachometer is located on the left side of the dash covering the left turn signal lamp so the left turn signal lamp was incorporated into the tachometer itself giving it the nickname of "blinker tach. Note this is a tachometer only option as indicated by the single fuel gauge in the left gauge pod and presence of the high beam lamp in the speedometer cluster.

When a center console was not ordered on a V8 Malibu sport coupe, convertible, sedan pickup or SS 396 sport coupe or convertible with RPO U16 gauges the clock was moved to the top of the transmission hump.

Three different tachometers wer3 possible depending on the engine ordered. The particular tachometer was selected by the factory's software and not optional to a buyer.
