© ChevelleWorld The 2-door pillared body style name changed from "sedan" to "coupe" for 1968 and reverted back to the 1964-1965 body style number of "17." The 4-door pillared sedan retained its "sedan" name. Only the 131/13217 and 133/13417 Fisher Body style designations were offered in the 2-door "coupe" body style.

© ChevelleWorld A bench seat was standard for all series and models. The SS 396 bench seat was all vinyl while other series/models were cloth & vinyl with the exception of convertibles and sedan pickups that were all vinyl. Bucket seats were an option under RPO A51 and only available with the Malibu & SS 396 series sport coupe or convertible as well as the Malibu series sedan pickup.

© ChevelleWorld Three "Concours" options were introduced in March, one for the Malibu 4-door sedan (RPO ZK5), one for the 4-door sport sedan (RPO ZK6), and one for the Malibu sport coupe (RPO ZK7). These are not to be confused with the Concours station wagon. These featured a "Concours" nameplate in place of the "Malibu" nameplate on the front fenders and ribbed panel between the tail lamps along with such luxuries as extra sound deadening and Buick, Oldsmobile, or Pontiac interiors when black bucket seat interiors were ordered. When a bench seat was used, there were three special interiors exclusive to the Concours-optioned Malibus - See the 1968 interior page for more.
