Wheel Covers - Hub Caps
Hub caps cover only the lug nuts, wheel covers cover the entire wheel.
All 1966 Chevelles, came standard with hub caps when no optional wheel
cover was ordered. The wheel was painted the same color as the lower
body color. This hub cap carries part #3875039.
Three optional wheel covers were offered on 1966 Chevelles under RPO P01, RPO P02,
and RPO N96. The P01 wheel cover was available as an option on any 1966
Chevelle and carries part #3860209. Shown here on an SS 396 sport coupe
with standard red-stripe tires. When optional wheel covers were ordered
the wheels were painted black regardless of lower body color.
The P02 (simulated wire) wheel cover was optional on all 1966 Chevelles,
including the SS 396 series. This simulated wire wheel cover carried
over from the 1965 model year and carries part #3834904.
Now available as an optional wheel cover, the RPO N96 simulated mag wheel cover
carries part #3872861. Note the dark gray area in the webbing. This
would change for the 1967-1968 model years.
