Production Numbers - 1968

In 1968, the series are the 2nd and 3rd numbers of the Fisher Body style number and the model (body style) are the last two numbers. Fremont was the only U.S. assembly plant to match the Fisher Body style number series with either the L6 or V8 engine with an L6 having an odd 3rd digit and the V8 with an even 3rd digit. All other U.S. plants Fisher Body Number plants used an even 3rd digit regardless of engine type. The production numbers shown by series/model are based on the GM VIN designations, not the Fisher Body style designations. See my Trim Tag Decoder CD for more detailed information.

The Series/Model columns correspond to VIN series & body style and not Fisher Body plate Style numbers.
